Star Shines – Tottenham Player Ratings vs Sunderland

Pochettino-TottenhamTottenham Hotspur have finally won their first game of the season by beating Sunderland away from home.
The North Londoners started the season with a defeat against Manchester United and then registered three frustrating draws against Stoke City, Leicester City and Everton. The game versus Sunderland was heading towards another draw as well but a brilliant team goal late on in the game ensured that the visitors earned all three points.
In all fairness, Sunderland were unlucky again and hit the bar on two occasions. The Black Cats now find themselves bottom of the league.
Jan Vertonghen was easily Tottenham’s best defender on the day but the best player was without doubt Ryan Mason.
The 24-year-old England international produced a brilliant all round performance. He defended well, passed the ball around with ease and scored the all important winning goal with a cheeky chip.
Here are Tottenham player ratings against the Black Cats.

Townsend and Lamela half decent. Aldeweireld needs to stop tugging attacker’s shirts in the penalty area. Son will get better, would perform better behind Kane. Alli useful as an impact sub, in my opinion. Onwards and upwards for the Spurs !
