Forget Berahino – Tottenham Close in to Sign 138 Goal Star

Saido Berahino WBATottenham have only earned a single point from their opening two Barclays Premier League games and must step up big time.
The North Londoners must reinforce their squad with more quality players. If reports are anything to go by then Tottenham are closing in to sign Spanish international Fernando Llorente.
Metro cite reports in Italy claiming that Spurs are in talks with Juventus to secure the signing of the 30-year-old forward.
Mirror claimed few days back that Tottenham are very keen on signing West Brom star Saido Berahino for 20 million pounds.
However, having already secured a young versatile forward in the form of Clinton Njie, Spurs must prefer the signing of an out and out striker in the form of Llorente. As per the provided Metro link, the former Athletic Bilbao striker is only rated around 8.5 million pounds.
Fernando is a proven quality striker and has scored 138 goals in his club career with Bilbao and Juve.
In your opinion, should Spurs sign Fernando Llorente or Saido Berahino?

Llorente because he will get more goals than Beraniho. We also need another CDM

I think it makes sense to have at least one experienced striker who can play up front on his own. The question is how hungry is Llorente at this stage of his career? I hope Spurs have learnt how to assess the mentality of players before they purchase. Physically Llorente should be able to cope with the premier league. He has the quality and knowledge which could help Kane develop quicker.
The lower fee would also mean a fast winger and an experienced defensive midfield player could also be purchased. Again Bentalab and Dier could also develop quicker from learning from a master. I feel the defensive problems will continue until the midfield gives better protection.

Forget Llorente he is too old and hasn’t been playing that well for some time now. I would much rather have Berahino. He has a good shot on him, is scoring goals, takes up good positions and knows how to play alongside Kane. It’s obvious…

    Sign both
Like what Scorpio said..how Hungry will be Llorente at 30 years old..maybe 1 or 2 more years ?

  5. Paul says:

They need both, we saw what happened once Kane was out last week..I hope we get Bolasie as well.

  6. JOHNNY says:

Forget Bolasie get the russian Andrily Mole or something from Dynamow Kieve the guy is a genius he will get Harry all the goals he wants and he will ensure we get into the top four we crave for get moving Levy Everton are sniffing around this signing would be my number one signing also forget LLorente past it has been on the bench most of last years campaign .

Tough call on these two as WBA is playing hardball (25 is too much) and Llorente is older. However, I think the latter would be a better out and out striker and his physicality would gives the spurs a better target. Spurs could also work a deal where Juve get Lamela (whom they apparently want and I’m almost certain will never fully fit the side) and we get old guy whose contract is almost done. Don’t know how the money could be divvied due to the extremely different transfer fees, but what good does Lamela do on the bench?
Overall, I’d rather have Karmolenko than Berahino due to the former’s ability to not only score but also in how he creates chances. These 2 together, combined with Harry, would give the Spurs a stronger attacking presence than they have now.

  8. Patnevin says:

Neither….N’jie is similar to Berahino and Llorente should have come here instead of Juve a couple of years ago. We should sign Charlie Austin. The guy scored a lot of goals in the prem for a poor team. He’s an old school No9 who’d work well with Kane. He won’t break the bank, leaving funds for other areas.
