Tottenham supporters will be delighted after capturing three defenders in the form of Alderweireld, Trippier and Wimmer this summer but now the club must focus on improving midfield and attack.
As far as the midfield department is concerned, Spurs have already sold expensive signing Paulinho. Unfortunately, the Brazilian proved to be a massive flop at White Hart Lane.
Moreover, according to reports, Spurs have accepted a bid from Watford to sell another midfielder in the form of Benjamin Stambouli.
The 24 year old French international could only feature 12 times in the league for Spurs and started mere 6 games.
The North Londoners must focus on signing a versatile midfielder to reinforce the department adequately.
On the other hand, Pochettino’s search for a striker might be complete as Tottenham are closing in to sign Fernando Llorente from Juventus.
According to Metro, the Spanish international is ready to accept move to White Hart Lane after Tottenham made $16.5 million offer to hire his services.
The Italian champions secured two forward signings this summer in the form of young Paulo Dybala from Palermi and experienced striker Mario Mandzukic from Atletico.
Hence, the departure of Llorente from the Old Lady should not bother the Serie A champions much. For Tottenham, the 30 year old striker will be a quality addition.
