Liverpool seem Set to Seal $22m Rated Star Signing

Brendan Rodgers LiverpoolLiverpool have had constant defensive concerns under the management of Brendan Rodgers and fans will hope the dilemma is sorted out this summer.
The Reds have already secured two defenders in the transfer window by luring right full back Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton and central defender Joe Gomez from Charlton.
Moreover, the merseysiders are also looking to secure a player for left full back position as well and French international Lucas Digne is in the lime light.
If reports are anything to go by then Liverpool seem set to seal the signing of $22m rated defender. Digne has mostly mostly warmed the bench with the French champions and according to Daily Mail Liverpool are looking to lure him.
Italian Sky sports journalist Guglielmo Cannavale provided confirmation from Digne’s agent that Liverpool are interested in signing the PSG star.
Adding to that, as per the provided Mail link, Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc has told L’Equipe that Lucas wants to leave the Ligue 1 giants as he claimed:

“First, it is he who very clearly asked to leave”
“For now, he is with us, he is very professional, he trains very well and has prepared excellently. He has shown the results in friendlies”

Liverpool signed Alberto Moreno from Sevilla last summer and the Spanish international has been their first choice left back.
However, Moreno has been inconsistent as well and has no real competition to improve with Jose Enrique in the side. Lucas Digne will improve the quality and depth as far as left back position is concerned.

Lucas Digne must be a compulsory acquisition.
He and Flanagan should compete for left back.
Moreno is bullshit and should be the first player to be shown the door at Anfield.

I’m really surprised how little time new players are given. We seem to think that if a guy costs £5m or £50m he should just move clubs and countries and continue as if nothing has happened.
Regarding Moreno, he played really well in some games, but was poor in others, that is not surprising given his age and the changes he had to deal with.
Angel de Maria is world class but his family hasn’t settled and not surprisingly he hasn’t performed.
For me Moreno needs to perform more consistently and I would expect that more this season, and I hope Flanagan recovers as he is a stronger defender.

i think Augustinsson, the Swede, will be a better signing to compete with Moreno at left back. I would also like LFC to sign Pedro from Barcelona to put us at competitive advantage in the attack. Last season we missed out on Sanchez to Arsenal and regretted it. This time around, we should not allow Man United to beat us to Pedro having learnt our lessons. It is always better to sign a player from a top club because of quality exposure/experience.
Pedro to replace Sterling will enable Liverpool compete for the title. He is quick, maverick, can dribble and has eye for goal – a complete finisher that fits into Liverpool’s style of play.

@Nath I really agreed with your exertion, but our so called manager and director are too sluggish and myopic in acquiring a player like Pedro.

  5. Nick says:

I think we must now sell off those players whose chances of playing in the first are slim. Pedro would be a good signing. He can play anywhere in the midfield and is a dribbler. Let Balotelli go while he still has some market value. Rodgers should should concentrate on our defense as we leaked too many goals last season.
