Tottenham have secured two key defensive signings already but are arguably close to completing the most important one.
As previously published, Spurs are in pole position to hire the services of Belgian international Toby Alderweireld.
Standard reported yesterday that Spurs are closing in on the Atletico Madrid star as chairman Levy is set to fly to Spain this week and hold talks for his signature. The mentioned price tag as per the provided link is 10 million pounds.
Toby is a versatile star and over the years he has successfully played as an central defensive midfielder, right back as well as in central defense. Saints had the second best defense in the league last season and Toby was a pivotal member of their back line as a center back.
As far as Spurs are concerned, they recently signed a right back in Kieran Trippier and a central defender in the form of Kevin Wimmer.
