More than any other signing this summer, Arsenal need a top quality goal scorer but will they be able to sign one?
The latest reports will not please the Gunners supporters as Italian source Tuttosport claim that Arsenal are leading the race to sign Juventus striker Fernando Llorente.
The Spanish international is still a quality player but has mostly warmed the bench for the Serie A champions and will turn 31 next year.
Llorente will not solve Arsenal’s dilemma as the Gunners do not need someone who is past his best. Nevertheless, as per the above given link, Wenger is ready to offer 8.5 million pounds to sign the former Athletic Bilbao forward.
On the other hand, the North Londoners have been linked with a quality youngster as well in the form of Barcelona star Sergi Sampers.
Spanish source Mundo Deportivo lately suggested that Arsenal are ready to meet the release clause to sign the 20-year-old defensive midfielder.
Now, another Spanish source El Confidencial has reported that Sampers’ father is getting in touch with the English side to ensure that his son moves to the Emirates.
With Sergi’s family also keen for the move, it will not be a surprise anymore if the youngster ends up signing for Arsenal this summer.
