Tottenham are focusing way too much on the defensive side this summer as manager Mauricio Pochettino looks to solve the concerns at the back once and for all.
The North Londoners have already officially secured two defender deals for Wimmer and Trippier but still want to further reinforce the department.
Spurs are now heavily linked with two quality players who are surely better than the duo they have signed.
First is Belgian international Toby Alderweireld. The 26 year old Atletico Madrid star played on loan for Southampton last season as was one of the key member of their strong defensive setup under Koeman.
He mainly played as a central defender for Saints but has effectively played as a full back and a defensive midfielder as well with Atletico and Ajax.
Reports suggest that Spurs are closing in to sign the versatile star and the player himself wants to move to White Hart Lane. Tottenham need a quality RCB and Toby will be exactly that.
On the other hand, Spurs are in talks with rising defensive midfielder Giannelli Imbula of Marseille.
As per the provided link, Inter were leading the race for the 22 year old star. However the Nerazzurri have instead signed his compatriot Kondogbia from Monaco for the DM role and hence Spurs can push to sign the €18.5m rated star who is also an Arsenal target.
