Spanish Source Basically Confirms €50m Superstar will be Sold to Manchester United

Otamendi ValenciaManchester United are still in search of a world class center back and Nicolas Otamendi remains in the lime light as the main man in the media.
There have been various articles where it has been reported that United have agreed terms with the Argentine star.
Metro reported the same few days back but claimed that Valencia are adamant and will not let the star leave the club unless United activate his release clause of €50m.
The latest update on the transfer saga has been provided by Spanish source Fichajes, who have basically confirmed that highly rated La Liga star will be sold to Manchester United this summer.
Fichajes claim that Valencia are badly in need of funds to reinforce their squad and for that they will have to sell their prized asset Otamendi to any club that offers the highest fee. For now, Manchester United are the only club seriously interested in signing him.
The Red Devils have ample funds to even meet Otamendi’s release clause. If required, they may do so but for now they do not really have to taking into consideration the situation at Valencia and also because there are no contenders to sign the South American star at the moment.
La Liga is expected to start in mid August and Valencia also have to play CL play off tie as well. They must look to sign key players in time to settle them well in the system before the season starts and for that they need $$$. Losing him in late July or August will be adverse for Valencia who may have lost out on their targets by that time and will not have enough time to make new targets, sign and gel them in the team.
The Spanish side are in no real position to play hard ball with Man United. They may have to settle for a price less than the release clause if no other club seriously competes with the Red Devils soon enough. Even if there is a serious competitor ready to pay the asking price, United, as mentioned earlier have already agreed terms and will still be able to secure him by meeting release clause; Highly unlikely it will come down to that. We shall see.
