Arsenal’s search for star striker continues as Porto star Jackson Martinez seems to have snubbed Gunners.
Reports in Spain claimed that Atletico Madrid have secured the signing of highly rated Colombian international. Hence, Arsene Wenger has to look elsewhere to sign a prolific goalscorer this summer.
Arsenal have turned their attention towards Germany and reports suggest that they are making move worth €40.3million for Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang may have not got as many goals this season but the Arsenal’s big money move for the Gabon star makes complete sense.
Martinez, scored 32 goals and provided 7 assists in 42 games for Porto last season, while the Dortmund star scored 25 goals and provided 11 assists in 46 games for the Bundesliga side.
Dortmund played the Gabon international on the right wing in the first half of the season, that is one of the main reasons why he did not score many goals before the new year.
In the second half of the season, when Aubameyang was consistently played as a center forward, he directly contributed in 15 goals (11 goals, 4 assists) in 15 league games.
Jackson will be turning 29 in a few months while Aubameyang is currently 26 years old, in his peak years.
Renowned for being one of the fastest footballers around, Arsenal can hugely benefit from his qualities.
Will Gunners be able to secure his signing? Only time will tell.
