Arsenal may have one of the best attacking playmakers in the world but they clearly lack a world class striker.
It will be fair to stay that since the departure of former captain Robin van Persie, gunners have not been able to replace the prolific Dutch star who scored 30 league goals in his last season with the North Londoners.
Hence, Arsenal are linked with move for top quality strikers and fans will hope that this time around Wenger will splash the cash and sign one.
The key forwards linked with move to Arsenal are:
- Gonzalo Higuain – Napoli
- Karim Benzema – Real Madrid
- Jackson Martinez – Porto
Rafa Benitez left Napoli to join Real Madrid and does not really have Benzema in his plans as per the provided link. The French star (27) scored 22 goals in 46 appearances for Los Blancos last season.
Argentine international Higuain (27) will not be playing in Champions League if he stays with Napoli. Arsenal offer the solution.
Former Real Madrid star scored 29 goals in 58 appearances for the Italian side last season.
Last but not the least is Jackson Martinez (28) who has scored for fun since joining Porto.
His goal-scoring record is better than the mentioned two players but he obviously plays in an inferior league in comparison to La Liga and Serie A. Martinez scored 32 goals in 42 games for the Primeira Liga giants last season.
Metro suggests that Arsenal are desperate to sign one of the three mentioned stars to improve their strike-force. For now Giroud, Welbeck and Walcott are main strikers Arsenal have.
Have your say. Which striker is better suited to Arsenal?
