Still, the Red Devils need more depth and quality in the midfield department, hence must secure a top signing for the central midfield position. Someone who is versatile.
One such player linked is Dortmund star and German international Ilkay Gundogan.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder is capable of playing as a deep lying playmaker, a creative central midfielder as well as turns into an attacking midfielder when needed.
Injuries ruined his last season and that meant he missed the World Cup as well but Gundogan is back and has helped Klopp’s men bounce back in the second half of the season.
According to reports, €21m star has given Louis van Gaal go-ahead to bid for him as he expects to complete Manchester United move alongwith team mate Mats Hummels.
We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds this summer but if Gundogan really wants Man United, then LvG must not wait any time in completing the move.
