Why Arsenal Cannot Sign Liverpool's Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling Liverpool European Golden Boy AwardAfter the departure of Luis Suarez last summer, Raheem Sterling became the focal point of Liverpool’s attacking setup.
The England international has been brilliant at this young age and is one of the most important players for the Reds.
Liverpool are well aware of his significance as Raheem is yet to hit peak and can be world class for the years to come. However, the merseysiders are finding it hard to agree a new contract.
Since captain Gerrard will be gone at the end of the season as well, Liverpool cannot afford to lose more star players as that will hamper their progress.
According to latest reports, Sterling is even ready to reject a mammoth £180,000-a-week contract from the Reds to move elsewhere.
As per provided link Arsenal are ready to bid for the playmaker, however it will be safe to say that it is just a rumour and Arsenal cannot sign Raheem Sterling. Here are the reasons.
Liverpool will not Sell to Rivals
Arsenal tried all they could to lure Luis Suarez from Liverpool 2 years ago but the Reds were adamant to keep him and more importantly not sell to a premier league rival.
Same is the case with Sterling who is Liverpool’s prized asset. Raheem still has two years left on his contract and Liverpool will strive to keep him. Even if they fail, they may only sell him abroad.
Arsenal do not really Need Sterling
How many playmakers do Arsenal really need in their squad? Currently they have more than few world class players in the form of Cazorla, Sanchez and Ozil. Adding to that, they have quality players in the backup who are second to none in the form of Chamberlain and Walcott. Also young Gnabry is a quality prospect for the future.
Moreover, Sterling who won the European Golden boy award for his performances last season is going to be very expensive. Arsenal need to spend wisely to secure players for defense and midfield where they need reinforcements more than in attack.
Arsenal’s Pay Structure
If Sterling is really going to reject a £180,000-a-week offer from Liverpool then how can Arsenal convince him to sign. The likes of Alexis and Ozil earn less than that and surely Raheem will never be offered that huge a contract by Arsenal.
Arsenal fans can forget about the prospect of signing Sterling and Liverpool should do all to somehow agree a new contract but if he continues to be unreasonable, Reds may look to sell him abroad for a huge fee.

Arsenal will be mad if they waste time pursuing Sterling. Mertesacker is a liability and we need a CB. Also, Flamini, Arteta and Wilshere are others that need to go and hence another midfielder is needed

  2. TAJ AZIZ says:

We don’t need him go for a proper deffender and dm may be a world class striker and a very good keeper
