Not Strootman – Man United to Sign Complete Midfielder?

Real Marid Luka ModricManchester United have been in search of a top quality midfielder since the retirement of Paul Scholes.
However, the Red Devils have largely failed despite spending huge amounts in the transfer window.
Since last summer, Louis van Gaal has been targeting two Serie A midfielders in the form of Arturo Vidal and Kevin Strootman but in all fairness, up till now has only wasted time.
As per the provided Express link, the Dutch manager could be making a move to sign Croatian International and Real Madrid superstar Luka Modric.
Like Vidal and Strootman, Modric is also a complete midfielder, capable of playing as a deep lying playmaker, a creative central midfielder and also turns into an attacking one if needed.
The former Tottenham star was arguably one of the best players for the Real Madrid side that won the Copa del Rey and Champions League  double last season.
Express mention that FIFA agent Gallardo suggests that Modric is important to Real Madrid and is happy there but his wife has concerns living in Spain and hence he may move.
The Croat has featured in 10 league games for Spanish giants this season, scored a goal and set up 2 assists.
However he has missed the last six league games due to hamstring injury and that is one major aspect United will be considering because for the same reasons they did not pursue Strootman that badly in the summer window.
Chelsea are also interested in him and Modric should like the idea of playing under Mourinho who was the one to bring him to Madrid but Chelsea do not have any midfield concerns. They did sign Fabregas in summer and have one of the best holding midfielders in Nemanja Matic.

I’m sick and tired of cock and bull stories every other day. LVG don’t wanna sign any player now. That’s just how I see it. And if he does, we might not even qualify for the champions league. That which I’m not anticipating.

I would prefer someone with more physical presence for the Premiership
