Welbeck Praised by Legend as 'Real Threat' & 'Very Dangerous'

Danny Welbeck Manchester UnitedManchester United legend Rio Ferdinand who exited the club lately to join Harry Redknapp side Queens Park Rangers is not impressed by his former club’s transfer business.
The Red Devils may have signed many top stars this summer but the veteran central defender believes that they have not done business the United way.
Adding to that, Ferdinand has labelled Man United as ‘Mad’ for letting home grown star Danny Welbeck leave the club that too for rivals Arsenal.
The retired England international rates Welbeck really high and believes that United may find out soon that they made a mistake by selling him.
Ferdinand claimed:

“I cannot believe United let him (Welbeck) go, especially to Arsenal. That seems mad to me. He’s a real threat to defenders and, if Arsenal use him right, he will be very dangerous for them.
“Danny has everything to be a top player. English football has yet to see what he can really do because he hasn’t been getting a run of games.”
“I think he felt frustrated at United because, even if he did well, Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney would be ahead of him. At Arsenal, he will be the main man and I have no doubt he will flourish.”

Welbeck’s scoring record has not been brilliant for the Devils as he has only scored 29 goals in 139 games but mainly because of not getting regular starts in the presence of Rooney and Robin van Persie.
It was time for him to leave after Falcao’s arrival but selling to one of your main rivals for the Champions League spot may as well prove to be a wrong decision for United as Welbeck is talented and his peak years are ahead.

Welbeck, for both Utd and England has never been much more than a trier. I followed his progress from 17 and while he progressed to the 1st team at OT he never established himself as 1st choice. England fans cursed his selection at national level. And now suddenly he has gone to Arsenal we are getting all these nonsense statements about him.
He’s 23, he is what he is! Players don’t transform themselves into something new at that age. His ability is established. He’s a top guy but as a player he’ll never be a regular in a top 4 side, end of.
