Gunners are looking to set things right this summer by signing world class superstars to challenge for the title next season.
Arsenal have already captured one of the most exciting talents in Alexis Sanchez. However, only his arrival is not enough as the North Londoners do need reinforcements in other departments.
It is well known that Arsenal need a top quality striker in their squad and fans will be hoping that they sign one soon.
Other than that, Wenger desperately needs to improve the defense as well that literally crumbled in the second half of last season.
Vermaelen seems all set to depart the Emirates this summer and a central defender is needed. More importantly, they need a quality figure in the midfield who can break play and take pressure off the back four.
One such player is linked with Arsenal and according to Metro, he is pushing for a move to Gunners as well. The player in discussion is German international and Real Madrid star Sami Khedira.
Los Blancos star is arguably one of the best defensive midfielders in the world at the moment and Arsenal can largely benefit from his services next season.
Flamini is past his best while Arteta is just a deep lying playmaker who cannot defend and that did cost Arsenal bad last season.
Arsenal already have many top attackers in the side but not even one quality CDM and hence for gunners, Khedira signing will be more vital than Sanchez.
The only major obstacle in the way is his salary. According to reports, Khedira demands £150,000 a week wage that will make him the highest earning Arsenal player by overtaking record signing Mesut Ozil who earns £140,000 a week.
Khedira is having a brilliant World Cup for Germany even when he was not supposed to be there after suffering half of last season on injury table. Such is the quality and importance of the German international and Arsenal must break the bank to lure him.

We’ll spoken. Last season exposed the defensive midfield flaws we had. Alexis arrival has made a significant statement. We need Sami or Vidal or any one in that class, but if Sami is interested in us, for goodness sake Arsene, break the banks as you will be glad you did. Exiting times gunners.
When was the last time we had a top top class DM in our squad?
One of the many reasons why we’d been trophieless for so long till last season.
With due respect, our DM last season was makeshift. To this add the impending departure of Varmalean, Monreal, tender Gibbs and the already departed Sagna. Yes we need a quality DM but is the back four secure?
I believe Khedira’s coming will depend on the fans. Sanchez’s jersey was unveiled last night. If we all rally to buy up to 500,000 within a week…why not? The club will quickly seal Khedira and unveil it too. So, I’ve ordered mine and my son’s…what about you?
If you go onto the offcial Arsenal website, there is a picture on the home page with the caption ‘Gunners trio reach World Cup final’.
It shows Ozil embracing Khedira with a third player hidden. Is this a prophetic sign, a coincidence or some mischief-making ?
Whatever, Khedira would be the missing link that would make Arsenal real PL challengers – please open those purse strings once more Mr Wenger. By moving on Arteta & Flamini who are both sadly fading now, this would free up some of the wage budget
Khedira or vidal are what our dm need to complete the lineup so who is responsible to open the cheque book again
