Manchester United fans have been anxiously waiting for the arrival of Arturo Vidal from Juventus after the deal looked imminent.
Juventus were ready to do business with the Red Devils for their prized asset however, United have pulled the plug according to Daily Mail.
The midfield partnership of Vidal and Herrera would have been brilliant for the Red Devils but it seems Vidal signing has been turned down in favor of one of Van Gaal’s favorite, Kevin Strootman.
The Dutch star who currently plays for Roma missed the World Cup campaign with a long term injury and will fully recover at the end of the year.
According to reports, Manchester United are all set to swoop for the former PSV star who is rated around €30m in the winter transfer window when he will be fully fit.
Guess Manchester United and the supporters will have to work with the partnership of experienced Michael Carrick and new signing Herrera in midfield till the January transfer window and that is not bad by any means.
However, the Red Devils do not really have quality depth. Fellaini, Fletcher and Cleverly were average last season and are won’t really improve coming on from the bench.
Hence, United should look to secure a top quality midfield signing this summer as not signing now can influence their premier league position come January.
Kevin Strootman is without doubt a quality midfielder and he started his Serie A career in style. However his days in Italy might be numbers as Van Gaal wants his compatriot at Old Trafford.

It seems to me LVG is treating it as a marathon not a sprint and I for one am willing to trust his vision,too many new faces at once can sometimes be detrimental,just look what happened at spurs !!
Vidal is one of the best midfielders around. For 35mil he is welll worth the price.if l.van gaal thinks carrick and herrera are the answer then he is clueless about the pl.we need someone like yaya or lampard.so far we dont have any player that can do what is needed in midfield.vidal should be our priority. We rushed and bought herrera.who isn’t even good enough for the Spanish squad. Dont see us challenging for the title unless we add a further 3 world class players and thats a fact
Somehow louis van gal is making sense since juventus wants to give tranfer fee vidal doesnt worth thinking manutd is in desperation of midfielder like him.they should cut down the transfer fee if they want to get cash to save them from bankrupcy cos there are competative midfielders who can even play more than him take for instance of james rodriguez.
I think depending on M. Carrick and players like Kagawa, Matta, Flecher is a good idea but mind you injuries some times come at crucial time and man utd need a good midfilder like Vedal to take care of numer six position and Matta and others can well at good time.
No matter van should sign Vidal we need him in midifield we have a good midifielder like mata nd kagawa so let pair them a good result nd take ur position back
Let LVG try to get Vidal to OT. Carrick isn’t creative enough for us and yet our competitors have strengthened them selves by buying good player’s. we also need Hummels and a world class left winger.
