Many Manchester United will consider Angel Di Maria’s arrival as their best signing of the summer and it looks like that the dream is about to come true.
United are not going to play in the Champions League next season, yet they are linked with stars that are rated amongst the very best in the world. The likes of Vidal and Di Maria are without doubt world class.
According to reports, Argentine international has agreed personal terms to join Manchester United this summer and now all that is left in the deal is to agree fee with Real Madrid.
As per the provided link, the former Benfica winger will earn £150,000-a-week with the Red Devils.
With a huge transfer kitty available, United should have no real constraints as far as the asking price is concerned but still they are looking to pay Los Blancos a sum of around £30m whereas the European champions are demanding £40m.
Star also claim that Di Maria will join Shaw and Herrera at Manchester United once the fee is agreed between two clubs and that is the only aspect left in the deal.
The spending is not going to stop there because United need to reinforce their defense as well to replace the likes of Vidic and Ferdinand.
Evra’s long term replacement was secured in the form of Luke Shaw but there is not depth at left back position. Moreover, central defense needs quality signings as well.

Hope it’s not true. Terrible signing and about 30m overpriced.
If the reports are true regarding Di Maria and Vidal and I really hope they are then Man United will not only have a World Class manager in Van Gaal, they will also have arguably the strongest squad in the Premier League too!
With Herrera already signed to strengthen our known weak spot of Centre Midfield then bringing in Vidal and Di Maria suddenly changes everything around and with these players United would then boast an unbelievable amount of riches in midfield. Add to that the possible signing of at least 1 if not 2 of Hummels, Mangala, Martins Indi, De Frij or Vermalen and all of a sudden the Moyes era actually looks like a good thing as finishing without European football has forced United to splash out on the squad and not just paper over the cracks!
Looking ahead to the start of the new season and crossing my fingers and toes that deals for these players are completed then here is my take on how Van Gaal could line up his squad including those possible new signings:

As you can see the possible Premier League starting XI is as formidable as any in Europe while the Domestic Cup starting XI shows the true strength in depth of United’s first team squad, especially when u consider the quality of the players not mentioned like Valencia, Fletcher, Cleverley, Zaha, Young, Hernandez and Wilson. With a squad as strong as this to choose from and no European competition to distract Van Gaal either I fully expect United to not only finish in the top 4 but to actually make a serious title challenge this season and while i’d consider our priority just to ensure Champions League football for next season I also believe Van Gaal is more than capable of winning some silverware this season too!
All speculation at this stage I’m afraid. Other sites gave quoted him saying he wants to leave but destination needs to include CL!
