Liverpool Close to Sealing Bargain Buy of Summer: Not Lallana

Xherdan-Shaqiri-Bayern-MunichLiverpool have already started their transfer business for next season having completed deals for Lambert and Can.
Adding to that, the merseysiders are also set to complete deal for another Southampton star Adam Lallana as well.
However, the most exciting news for the Reds supporters is none of the ones mentioned above but the one provided below.
According to reports, Liverpool are close to sealing agreeing terms and sealing deal for Bayern Munich playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri.
As per the provided link, the price tag of only £15m is mentioned and if Liverpool can sign him for that sum, it will surely be the bargain buy of the summer.
The Swiss international is one of the brightest young prospects around but with many top quality players around, Shaqiri has nor played regular football at Bayern.
Last season, he featured in 17 league games in an injury hit campaign for the German giants, scored 6 goals and also provided 2 assists.
Capable of playing in many attacking positions, may it be out wide or central, Shaqiri will largely improve Liverpool’s attack and add to the depth they desperately need next season being in the Champions League.
The major concern for Liverpool is the ban of star striker Luis Suarez and the links of his departure as well.
Moreover, for now, Liverpool have mainly concentrated on their attack when in fact they must improve and fix issues at the back.

While liverpool are looking to add depth to the squad because of champions league , bolstering our attack is all good and well , but why is the defence not being sorted out?? That’s a huge concern and possibly one that cost us the league!! I’m really really baffled as to why our defence is not being strengthened? If we are to challenge for any titles at all we need a well rounded squad!! I’m a huge admirere of Brendan Rogers but he’s business in the transfer market is really questionable! Ynwa

Poor choice by Lallana if true (and Shaw). Liverpool have nothing to offer Lallana once they early exit the Champions League and Shaw will not cope well with the pressure at United. Still the journalists who have sought to undermine a club that is helping rather than destroying English football like Chelsea, Arsenal, United and Liverpool will be pleased with their work.

Mellisca, why are you getting your panties in a twist? Do you see the date? It’s still June. That means the transfer window hasn’t even opened yet. There is still plenty of time to sign defenders, that is all of the transfer window. There are defenders that we have been touted as interested in, multiple players for LB, Moreno, Marcelo, Marco Rojo and Ricardo Rodriguez, we have been said to be interested in Lovren and Aiderweireld (or however you spell his name) as well, we have plenty of time to add players.

    Lallana, another Charlie Adam.

While I see and understand the comment you make Gaz, if teams are allowed to get players to commit as teams, including Liverpool have done, then with the exception of Moreno, why is Liverpool not trying at least or seeming to try and tie down deals for the back-line? That is the main reason for Liverpool leaking so many goals last season and ultimately what cost them the title.
