Manchester United fans have waited for far too long for the first signing to arrive and it is in fact a double delight now.
The Red Devils have assured their fans they mean business in this transfer window and will lure top stars to reinforce squad.
After the disaster of last season, the Old Trafford club has completed deals for two superstars.
According to Express, new manager Louis van Gaal has splashed €75m to complete double deal for two long term targets in Southampton’s Luke Shaw and Athletic Bilbao’s Ander Herrera.
As per the provided link, Saints have finally accepted a €41m bid for the England international who is expected to complete his medical today and seal United deal.
On the other hand, Manchester United have officially announced the signing of Ander Herrera.
United activated the release clause in his contract and despite some complexities added by Athletic club, the deal was completed.
Herrera was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer as well but a lot has changed since then. United were champions and were playing in the Champions league, now they will not even feature in Europe.
Fans will hope that another midfield signing will arrive to solve the conundrum of last season. Having being linked with the likes of Kroos, Strootman etc, United have opted to lure Herrera as the first signing for Van Gaal.
Nevertheless, United needed a top quality midfielder for long term and Herrera completely fits the bill.
