Since Cesc Fabregas’ departure to Barcelona from Arsenal, there has not been one summer where the Spanish international was not linked with a return to Emirates.
It looks highly likely that the former Gunner is going to leave Catalan giants who do not want him for next season.
Manchester United were eager to lure him as well but as per latest reports, the Red Devils have pulled out of any potential deal and Arsenal should be considered favorites to bring their former captain back.
However, the La Roja star will cost a hefty sum of over 30 million pounds and with Arsenal’s reputation of not splashing heavy cash on many players, it is better they spend it on departments where they need more reinforcements.

As far as midfield is concerned, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey are two top creative center midfielders that Gunners have who are versatile enough to turn into attacking midfielders when needed as well. Therefore, creativity is not a problem as far as midfield is concerned as duo are more than capable of performing the roles that Cesc is renowned for.
The main dilemma is the defensive part in midfield, Arteta is past his best and as a DM he was way below average last season. On the other hand, veteran Flamini proved to be more fruitful than the Spaniard but still far from the consistency a top side needs.
According to reports, Gunners have revived interest in signing German star Sami Khedira and can lure him for a cut price of £15m. The 27 year old is a top quality holding midfielder and will largely help in improving Arsenal’s defensive mid concerns.
Even though he has been injured for about six months, Ancelotti picked him for CL final and German coach Joachim Low also selected him in the World Cup squad, facts that say a lot about his qualities. Moreover, Khedira is also a close friend of Arsenal record signing Mesut Ozil and hence he may find a move to Emirates intriguing as well.

I will like to see Khedira rather than Fabregas. We are in need of DM right now and a versatile striker. Although after we are able to sign DM and striker,If funds are there, i would like to see Fabregas at arsenal again
Much as I love Fabregas. I agree that we are more in need of a killer DMF – William Carvalho would be my choice.
i’d spend our reported £100m on Carvalho, Draxler and paying Sagna an extra £2/3m a year. Draxler had an average 2013/14, his stock is low at the moment, there will never be a better time to buy him.
ARSENAL needs to boost defence, that s central defence & fullbacks. With top quality players,midfield with a top quality holding midfielder and striking line with a top quality striker in oder to win major trophies like premier league and uefa champions league!!!!
