Arsenal only completed one major signing last season and for that they broke the transfer record to lure Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid.
The German international had been the player of the year for his country for the past three years, however Ozil could not really replicate his Real Madrid form in the first season in premier league.
Former Los Blancos playmaker had an injury hit season yet he was critical for the gunners. During the first half of the season, Ozil alongside Ramsey were the most important players that kept Arsenal on top of the league.
Settling into the premier league is not the easiest for new players but Ozil took no time and started proving fruitful from the word go.
David Silva has been the architect for Manchester City over the past few years but even he took his time to settle in the premier league.
In his first season for the sky Blues, Silva featured in 35 league games, the Spanish international scored 4 goals and provided 6 assists.
Ozil on the other hand have been way ahead of David Silva as per first season stats. The Kaiser could only feature in 26 league games for the North Londoners, scored 5 goals and provided 9 assists.
Mesut Ozil has received heavy criticism from pundits during his first season and yes he has been little too inconsistent for a player who cost over 40 million pounds. Next season, the German will have to step up big time.

This is ridicullous of the pundit because Ozil has never had a dip in form, as he is a player that need someone who make a decisive run in his front and since we lost Rambo to that devastating injury and other players are not a runner like Rambo,he has very little blame to take,even in his Madrid days he has (Oluwaseyi Ororo Ronaldo and Angel di Maria to make those runs. So his class remain high.
The pundits analyses of Ozil performance is distantly away from the reality. Ozil has contributed immensely to Arsenal’s success.
Most pundits hate Arsenal so much it’s a crying shame!!!! Every move is scrutinized so thoroughly it’s amazing. Spend money on 4 or 5 quality players please Wenger
