The Red Deivls were well aware of the fact that they do not have strong team to go head on attack and beat Bayern Munich despite playing at Old Trafford.
Hence, David Moyes went out with a defensive and counter attacking approach against the German side that nearly paid off.
However, it will be fair to say that Manchester United did all that with perhaps 10 players and not 11 because Marouane Fellaini was absent minded.
The Belgian star gave the ball away to Bayern on many occasions and if not for United’s potent defense, they could have easily conceded more.
He was easily the worst player on the field and was handed the lowest rating as well but the renowned Spanish media outlet AS have literally humiliated the expensive Man United star who cost €32m last summer.
AS did not even bother rating the Belgian international on his flop display as shown in the image provided below.

English media did not have anything good to say about him either. The problem is not only his lack of skill, but he’s lack of interest and drive. He’s failure to track the scorer led to the equaliser. He was just standing there, and not following the action. What defensive duty was he doing, we don’t know. I hope he got a shelling for that equalizer.
The lack of skill I agree with but the rest was just an uneducated haters comment. He was robust and energetic around midfield. Yes he did give the ball away quite too often but accusing him of lack of interest is dumbfounded and appears that you only watched the highlights or didn’t watch at all
Buying Fellaini was a total waste of money. I prefered Moyes using Tom instead of him. Hope he get his starting role on the bench for utd next season.
Hope it’s someone else’s bench he’s not united material and never will be if he carries on playing ( use playing very loosely) like he has thus season, if he gets involved more and plays like when at Everton he could be usefull .
Fellaini is slow but no where in this world would you compare him with mediocre Cleverly (probably the worst mid-fielder) in EPL. If you don’t see Fellaini’s aggression and desire then you don’t watch football.
Fellaini definitely did not deliver the goods on Tuesday night as well as in almost all the matches he appeared for Manu. I wonder what’s his role on the field if only to reduce United’s chances by being uncreative & out of participating in the game. Felliani is way beta dan tom. Fine he gave d ball away occasionaly, but at least his presence was felt. Wat will u say abt Giggs who was no where 2 be found? Even if he was substituted, who wuld hav bin brought in? Fletcher or cleverley*** plzzz i stick wit Felliani
He hasn’t done wat we fans expected of him. His performances was not really good enough we need more from him he should prove those criticising him wrong. Moyes should use NANI we love him.
all i can say is everton is enjoying Utd’s money and yet they gna get more its moyes no.1 shop and i dnt see buying staff with fellaini make any improvement just the opposite.Honestly i dont see 5mil player performance from him so how is he going to justify 27mil,pathetic,but for the club ill keep on believing him and moyes will get there,so far its just the biggest test of believe,top 4 is about keeping possession and attacking look at city,liv,barca,bayern thats there strength even if there defense is not so strong they reach the top4. Moyes must throw his textbook of how to stay top 10 all the years at everton away,its not the same book to stay top4 or reach it.
