Not Hazard, Chelsea's $12m Star Most Consistent this Season

Cesar Azpilicueta ChelseaChelsea are flying high in the Champions league and Premier league and it will be massive achievement for Jose Mourinho if he can win both titles this season.
During his first tenure, Mourinho won every English title with Chelsea but failed on the biggest stage as he could only take Chelsea to two semi finals, both lost against Rafa Benitez’s Liverpool.
Nevertheless, it has been a brilliant season for the Blues so far as apart from strikers, players have been fantastic and consistent.
However, the most consistent player for Chelsea this season is not their best attacking player, Hazard, not Oscar, not even Ramires.
The most consistent player for Chelsea this season is Spanish full back Cesar Azpilicueta. Signed for a fee of $12m in 2012, the former Marseille star has come of age and been brilliant all season at the back.
Adding to that, he proves to be a constant threat in attack as well combining well with the likes of Hazard and co. Moreover, his ability of playing on both flanks has largely helped the Blues as well.
Replacing legendary Ashley Cole in the starting XI was always going to be massive task, one that he has performed with perfection almost all season to an extent that even when Cole is fit, Cesar remains the first choice.
It is mainly because of Azpilicueta’s form that perhaps Mourinho is having second thoughts about signing Southampton’s Luke Shaw.
