Manchester United were up against the best team Bayern who were considered favorites to win even at Old Trafford.
However, a solid performance from the Red Devils meant that the game ended in a draw, could have easily been a win for United had they taken their chances.
As expected, Bayern had all the possession and threatened every time they came forward but Manchester United’s defense was up to the task and countered effectively as well.
It was the best defensive display from United by some distance that kept the high flying European champions out many times.
Majority of the times this defense had been crap over the course of the season but last night, it was brilliant.
Vidic, who will be leaving Old Trafford in summer showed that he can still play at the highest order.

Bayern are a very good side but 1-1 isnt exactly a great masterplan result. Would rather lose and have a go than play like a division 2 side sitting on the 18 yard line praying their attack doesn,t break through.
