Manchester United Favorites to Sign Star for $16m

David Moyes is ready to reinforce his squad next summer and bring back Manchester United where they belong.
The former Everton manager probably has to start from scratch and build a squad improving every department.
Players are surely going to depart and young blood must come in if United are to be successful again.
Defensive concerns have been consistent this season for the Red Devils and Moyes will have a major task at hand next summer to fix the issues.
With the likes of experienced veterans Vidic, Ferdinand and Evra expected to leave in summer, United need heavy reinforcements in the defending department.
As far as the left back position is concerned, David Moyes has been chasing several players e.g. Everton’s Baines, Southampton’s Shaw and Real Madrid’s Coentrao.
According to reports, Real Madrid are going to offer Portuguese defender Fabio Coentrao to Manchester United for a fee of only $16m. Since joining Los Blancos before the start of last season, Coentrao has only featured in 22 league games, 6 in this season and must depart for regular football.
Ancelotti does not prefer him and surely he is now surplus to requirements. As per the provided link Moyes tried to sign Coentrao last summer but very late in the window and the deal did not happen.
It will be fair to say that Manchester United are favorites to sign him as the Spanish giants are offering him directly to the Devils. However, Moyes will now have enough time to analyze and sign the best option.
Coentrao is brilliant going forward but his inconsistency in defending has kept him out of the starting XI mostly. Therefore, signing him can be a gamble.
