Liverpool Over-Flowing with Quality in Central Defense

Liverpool football club are flying high in English football right now. With three clean sheets and three wins, Reds sit at the top of the table, 2 points ahead of Chelsea.
One of the main reasons behind their brilliant results is their solid defensive setup. Last season, Liverpool had a very inconsistent defense and that was the main reason why they finished 7th in the league.
With limited budget and cash earned through player sales, Rodgers has done wonders by signing players for every position.
Lately, reds have announced the signings of two more central defenders, Tiago Ilori from Sporting and Mamadou Sakho from PSG. Overall, Reds have signed four defenders this summer; add Toure and Cissokho to the list.
Liverpool are overflowing with quality in central defense. With so many quality options available, Rodgers will surely have selection dilemma, a good one though.
Martin Skrtel was not at his best last season, but yesterday produced man of the match performance against rivals Manchester United. Vice-captain Agger is injury free and consistent.
Kolo Toure arrived on a free transfer and instantly produced fantastic performances. Now Liverpool have added experienced young defenders in Sakho and Ilori.
Solid defense, combined with an in form goalie is doing them wonders. If they can keep that going, Champions League football will not be a distant dream then.
