Luis Suarez Fought Hard, Earned CL, Left it, Now Wants it Back

Luis Suarez Fought Hard, Earned CL, Left it, Now Wants it BackArsenal fans will be overjoyed with the latest comments from Liverpool striker Luis Suarez. The Uruguayan has come up and claimed that Reds promised him that he would depart Anfield if they fail to qualify for Champions League and that is where Luis wants to be.
After 2 and a half years of ups and downs, Suarez feels that his time at Liverpool should end this summer as he wants to play in Europe’s elite tournament. However, he actually left CL football to join Reds. Why did he do that in the first place?
Luis Suarez fought hard, earned Champions league football with Ajax, left it to join Liverpool and now wants it back.
Suarez scored 99 goals in 135 appearances for the Dutch club in his first three seasons and only then, the club qualified for CL for 2010-2011 campaign. He featured in 5 CL games, scored 1 and provided 3 assists but Ajax were ousted to Europa League.
The Uruguayan then left half way through the season to join Liverpool in January who were in fact struggling in the PL. Ajax did win the Eredivisie title again and qualified for CL.
Fair to say that a player of his caliber and ability deserves to play Champions League football but even if Reds have promised to let him go, there is no way they would have assured him departure to another premier league rival.
Brendan Rodgers is reluctant to sell his prized asset but if there is no other option but to sell then Liverpool manager will likely follow De Boer’s comments when he sold Suarez. Back in 2011 De Boer claimed:

“I can understand Luis wanting to go to Liverpool. It’s a beautiful club but then it has to be satisfying for both parties”

Reds boss has reiterated that they have received two bids from Arsenal but none has come even close to their asking price for Suarez, none has been satisfying. Surely, Liverpool did not promise Suarez to let him go for cheap. There is no way the merseysiders are going to budge there.
Gunners desperately need a player like Suarez to compete for the title and Liverpool know that without CL, it is very unlikely to find an equally fantastic replacement. Then to sell their best player to a direct rival for CL places may as prove to be suicidal.
Like Torres, Suarez 26, feels that time is running out and he is not ready to fight hard again to earn Champions league football with Liverpool.

  3. jeremy says:

surely.. anyone even a semi illiterate knows ajax is no Liverpool, he was simply moving to a bigger club…. as is the case now, Maybe tomorrow Liverpool will be back but at this particular moment Arsenal seems to be a bigger better club.

  4. dominic says:

let him go we are better off without him by our side, we can do it but it must not be to arsenal.

  5. daddy says:

Allow him to go bcos u can not force a player who does nt. Want to stay to gv u his best..like R.V.P.last year in arsenal

  6. Previgo says:

Selling our best players in the EPL abroad makes our league more boring and deprive us from watching great talents week in week out that is one reason i would’nt want bale to live for spain even if i’m an arsenal fan, you see the laliga claiming they have the best players in the world not hinting 60% of those players came from the EPL, do we want to continue strengthening the la liga? One thing everyone has to understand is this..the more we the english clubs stamp our authority in europe, the more chances we have of increasing the number of clubs allowed to qualify for europe.

  7. Given Suarez claims , is Rogers now going to apologise to Arsenal for having no class. I guess a manager who can’t fulfil a players dream last year and goes back on a promise has no class at all.
Shame on Rogers , you have been behind arsenal for 16 years now selling Suarez is not a big issue because we will win the league with him so your rivals are not Arsenal but Chelski and man city and the scum in its and yids.

  8. Zakkour says:

Allow him to go to any club of his choice. He was a better player b4 he came to L’pool, so u didnt make him how he is nw. Van left for a rival club why then not Suarez?

  9. moffat udo says:
