United’s Potential Signing better than David Luiz?

United’s Potential Signing better than David Luiz? The international transfer window has opened today and Manchester United’s new manager David Moyes has finally arrived to take the managerial hot seat left by legendary Alex Ferguson at the end of last season. The former Everton manager has a lot of transfer business to do for next season.
The English champions already have a brilliant attacking lineup; one of their main concerns is to reinforce the defensive setup that was at times really weak last season. Moyes is reportedly poised to sign Argentine and Benfica defender Ezequiel Garay to strengthen the defense.
Manchester United’s potential signing might just be better than David Luiz who left Benfica in 2011 to join Chelsea for 21 million under the management of Carlo Ancelotti.
Later in 2011, Benfica paid Spanish giants Real Madrid 5.5 million Euros to sign Garay who has since been impressive for the Portuguese side.
Although a quality player all round, David Luiz has been more than influential for the Blues as a central defensive midfielder rather than a defender. On the other hand, The Brazilian is renowned for his attacking contributions as well; left foot or right foot, he can strike the ball sweetly from range and scored 7 goals for Chelsea last season.
Garay on the other hand is a strong center back. The 6 ft 4 Argentine has more experience than David Luiz and his experience of playing in the hardest league for defenders i.e. La Liga has turned him into a better player. The Argentine was brilliant for Benfica last season and the club kept 15 clean sheets in the league.
His height and strength makes him one of the toughest defenders to deal with and also helps in offense mainly from set pieces. Garay scored 2 goals for the Portuguese side last season.
Devils surely do need a quality center back for long term as two senior defenders are actually veterans now. Captain Vidic may as well leave United this summer while Ferdinand, who will turn 35 later this year may play his final season for United next season.
If Ezequiel Garay does end up signing for United, he will be a quality addition to the squad squad and the 26 year old can prove to be fruitful for the Devils in the years to come
