Manchester United’s Sad Treatment of Rooney

Manchester United’s Sad Treatment of RooneySince the day Alex Ferguson departed and it was announced that David Moyes will be the new manager of Manchester United. Wayne Rooney has been treated as if he has been a stranger for all this time. The one who served the club for nearly a decade is now unwanted and baffling that some fans already hate him.
Understandable that Ferguson said that fans must back the next manager the way they backed him but Moyes has only arrived a few days ago and he is suddenly more important than Wayne. Moreover, his over the top comments about Rooney are not justified at all.
Rooney has not come up once and stated that he wants to leave United this summer, it is just the media speculating on his future all summer long and has turned the head of majority of the supporters.
Yet, David Moyes has no problem explaining to the media that Rooney who has been one of the most significant players for United over the past decade, helped the team win many titles will now only be used if star striker Robin van Persie is injured.
Real sad treatment of a guy who was their best player not so long ago and still is very important, scored 34 goals in the season before last for the Red Devils.
Saying that he is not for sale is fair enough but to come up and claim that one of your most important player will now run his contract down as a bench warmer for Manchester United will test any player’s patience and one cannot blame Rooney if he now desires to leave the club.
Ofcourse, the day he leaves, he is not going to get any well wishes from the United supporters, especially if he leaves for another English club, expect the words like traitor etc to be heard.
Beckham and other stars reiterate that Rooney must stay but how? Give him one good reason after Manchester United’s such sad treatment.
Whether David Moyes is trying to act to prove that he has things under control like Ferguson or perhaps that is the result of his personal problems with Rooney, only he would know. What is inevitable and clear is that Moyes is wrong and so are so many United supporters.
No wonder Rooney is angry and confused about the treatment of management and fans after he has done so much for the club.

    You are missing one vital thing! Rooney has had ample time to confront cameras and say that he wants to stay at Man Utd and he HAS NOT! – I’m afraid if you live by the sword you die by the sword & Mr Rooney in footfall terms is about to die! – He is paying for his disloyalty!

    Stupid article: first up rooney is in no way undervalued at manutd. Moyes said wazza was back to rvp in the number 9 position not a in his prefer 10 position. The only competion roo has is kagawa. Rooney can be deployed as the top 9 but he is better playing off the main striker

    Couldn’t agree more with this article. Yet again Rooney is being hit from all directions and may I say only after Fergie came out with his below the belt comments at the end of the season. We all know that the word of fergie is not to be challenged, this and the media frenzy have put Rooney in an untenable position at the club. Yet again we see a player treated badly by the club and I would not be surprised if he leaves. When are the supporters going to wake up and say enough is enough and stop putting top players in a position where they are forced to leave.
    I have supported United since the 1960s and have seen too many good players ditched by United during fergies reign that I feel as has been said in the article that the club will not go against him

    There are 2 problems on the Rooney topic and this article, thy are;
    1) David Moyes simply said Wazza would only be required to play an out and out striker if RVP was to get injured. As we all know Wazza has talent which he can use very well playing just behind RVP, howeve he simply is not happy in such a role and wants to be the sole striker.
    2) Wazza could save himself alot of hassle by clearly stating to the world he is commited to Man Utd and wants to stay. The rest from here puts all the pressure on DM and United to put the story to Bed.

    Man U have a history of treating players such as Becham poorly and have shown a complete lack of respect. So if I was Rooney I would tell Man U to go Fuk them selves. He’s better to look at playing somewhere else as he will regret staying.

  6. Absolute Bol–cks,David Moyes never said Rooney would only be used if RVP was injured, and the chairman never said he would be a benchwarmer, these quotes have been taken out of context and twisted again,do your job and find something decent to write about instead of jumping on the lets all hate United bandwagon,I thought this site was impartial providing good news, disappointing Socerisma disappointing !!
