Liverpool look to Replace Suarez with another 30 Goal StrikerArsenal are stepping up their pursuit to land Liverpool star man Luis Suarez who is currently enjoying with his team mates on pre-season tour in Australia. Although, Rodgers is reluctant to sell his prized asset but still he is surely considering options if for worst the Uruguayan does depart this summer.
Liverpool number 7 was one of the top performers in the league last season, scored 30 goals in all competitions and gunners are badly missing someone like him in their squad. On the other hand, Liverpool are looking to replace Suarez with another 30 goal striker namely Roberto Soldado.
Reports suggest that Liverpool are preparing a 25 million Euros offer to hire the services of Spanish striker. Soldado also scored 30 goals in all competitions for Valencia last season and has been one of their most consistent players over the past few years.
His brilliant outings for the La Liga side earned him a place in the Confederations Cup squad with the national side and the Spaniard scored in the opening fixture for La Roja.
Overall, Soldado has scored 82 goals in 141 appearances for the Valencia since joining them in 2010. The stats should look somewhat familiar to Liverpool fans as their former star striker Fernando Torres scored 81 goals in 142 appearances for the Reds during his time at Anfield.
Losing Suarez this summer will be a blow as signing an equally brilliant replacement without even featuring in Europe next season is highly unlikely. Adding to that, it will be a crime to say that Soldado is better than Suarez but surely the Spaniard is one of the best finishers in the world right now and Liverpool can largely benefit from his services.
Valencia failed to qualify for next year’s Champions League and will feature in Europa league. Tottenham are reportedly interested in the striker as well and will give Liverpool tough competition as at least they will also be featuring in the Europa League next season.
For now, Suarez’s future is undecided, but if he is sold then Soldado (who has a buyout clause of 30 million Euros) is by no means a bad option.
