Arsenal seem to have put all their eggs in one basket chasing Luis Suarez and are not focusing on their former captain Cesc Fabregas who is getting closer to joining Manchester United. The Red Devils are expected to seal the deal for the Spaniard in near future and will also keep Wayne Rooney at Old Trafford.
The reports suggest that Fabregas is ready to quit Barcelona to sign for Manchester United. Although, Cesc regularly starts for the Catalan side but he is taken off regularly as well. In 29 La Liga starts last season, Fabregas had to leave the field 16 times.
New manager Martino is also keen to keep star midfielder at Barcelona but if on field scenario is not going to change then it will be hard to keep him.
The Spaniard is also keen on playing with his ex-gunner team mate Robin van Persie. The two can combine again and do wonders for United next season if the deal goes through. However, that will enrage Arsenal supporters even more.
David Moyes is adamant about keeping Wayne Rooney whereas Jose Mourinho is also not giving up and is convinced that somehow he can bring the unsettled forward to Chelsea.
However, the latest news in the media says that the English Champions will not sell Wayne Rooney even if they are able to sign Cesc Fabregas.
Given that David Moyes faces the toughest challenge of his career with Manchester United, he wants to implement authority like Ferguson and make sure Rooney stays with the club. The pressure is on him to retain the title and when rivals are reinforcing this summer, he does not want to help them by letting Chelsea take one of his best players.
If for worst, Rooney departs, it is reported that United will only want the likes of their former superstar Cristiano Ronaldo or Premier League’s best player Gareth Bale to join them. Both the mentioned transfers are easier said than done and almost impossible this summer. Therefore, United plan to block Rooney’s transfer at all costs.
Mourinho is well aware of the fact that Rooney can help Chelsea win the premier league crown next season and United obviously do not want that. The player is unhappy with the way he is being treated and Chelsea are looking to take advantage there.
Chelsea will be assisted if Rooney hands in a transfer request but will that happen after he has served the club for 9 long years, unlikely. We shall see how the saga unfolds.
