Arsenal to Break Transfer Record to Sign Argentine

Arsenal to Break Transfer Record to Sign ArgentineGunners have been heavily interested in signing Gonzalo Higuain from Real Madrid but have faced two main obstacles. One the interest from Italian champions Juventus and the other well known i.e. asking price.
As things stand, reports suggest that the Old Lady no longer want Higuain and are looking to sign his compatriot Carlos Tevez from Manchester City. On the other hand, Madrid are not budging from their asking price and perhaps now Arsenal are to break transfer record to sign Argentine.
The Spanish club are reportedly holding out to a price tag of 22 million pounds. Arsenal do not have a habit of spending that heavily on a single player even when they do have available funds.
However, this time Arsene Wenger is likely to break the bank to sign top quality stars that will help in competing for the premier league title next season.
Arsenal’s record signing is Russian playmaker Andrei Arshavin signed by gunners in 2009 for a price of 15 million pounds. The little maestro will no longer play for the London side as his departure is confirmed.
Gunners badly need a quality goal scorer upfront since Robin van Persie left for Manchester United and Higauin may as well be the perfect solution to that dilemma.
For now, Arsenal are perhaps favorites to land the Argentine forward, however one major concern for gunner fans is that they have always seen top stars linked in transfer season but the club never opted to spend a mammoth sum to sign one player.
Whether or not that will change in case of Gonzalo Higuain, only time will tell.
