Although previously we did report that Fabregas will only leave Barca for Arsenal and he has also reiterated about that fact many times. Still, recent reports suggest that Manchester United are serious about signing the ex-gunner captain. Chances of that happening are low but What if another Ex-Arsenal star really joins United?
Arsenal supporters went furious when Robin van Persie decided to jump ship and joined Red Devils last summer. Fans loved their superstar who scored 30 league goals a season prior to his departure but when he left, Dutchman instantly lost his hero status and is one of the most hated figures now.
How will Fabregas be treated by the both set of fans if he also opts to join his former team mate at Manchester United?
Goes without saying that Manchester United fans will welcome the Spaniard in a very similar manner they welcomed van Persie.
Adding to that, one of Manchester United’s main priorities in the transfer market is to sign a top quality replacement for the retired legend Paul Scholes. Cesc Fabregas is perhaps the perfect one who could fill that gap in the midfield.
Fabregas is satisfied with his role for Spanish champions as he has started 29 league games for Barcelona this season, scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists. On the other hand, Barcelona have not showed any discontent with the player as well, hence United have to come up with a massive bid of around 30 odd million to stand any chance of convincing the Catalan side for his sale.
There is no doubt that Cesc was more pivotal for gunners than van Persie as the Spaniard played at the top of his game for the club for 8 years while the Dutchman mainly spent time on the treatment table. Still, it will not be fair to say that Fabregas reached legendary status.
