Chelsea Ready to Splash Millions on Striker

Chelsea Ready to Splash Millions on StrikerJose Mourinho is expected to join Chelsea after his torrid season ends at Real Madrid. The former Blues manager will reportedly get around 100 million to reinforce the squad and compete for the title. Perhaps the most significant signing will be a striker and Chelsea are ready to splash millions to sign one.
The blues have lacked a prolific forward for the past few years. Drogba was one of the best around, but his growing age meant that he could not score many in the league. Lacking a prolific goal scorer upfront is one of the main reasons why Chelsea have been really inconsistent in the league.
The Ivorian International was the last Chelsea player to score 20+ leagues goals in a season, his 29 goals helped blues win the premier league in 2009-10 under the management of Carlo Ancelotti. Since then, the astonishing fact is that only midfielders have topped the charts for blues as far as the league is concerned.
In 2010-11 season, French midfielder Malouda was the leading scorer for Chelsea with his 13 league goals. Last year it was Frank Lampard and Daniel Sturridge who scored 11 times and once again the veteran midfielder leads in the premier league with 15 goals this season.
The 50 million splashed on Torres was surely to solve that problem but the Spaniard has had problems of his own. Although he has been prolific in Europa League this season but could only manage 7 goals in the premier league which is a horrible stat.
Demba Ba was signed in January from Newcastle United but the Senegalese forward followed in Torres’s footsteps and has only managed 2 goals in 13 league appearances for the blues.
Chelsea have one of the best midfield lineups in the world, the playmakers such as the likes of Juan Mata, Oscar and Eden Hazard are without doubt world class and a decent forward should flourish with such quality behind him. However the system at Chelsea is perfectly set up for midfielders and perhaps only striker like Drogba who can bully defenders can fit in it.
Romelu Lukaku may as well fit the bill if Mourinho opts to keep him. The Belgian was tipped to be the next Drogba and he certainly has showed signs of qualify playing for West Brom on loan. If he does not get regular football, it is expected that Lukaku will leave.
Whether or not Mourinho looks to keep the current strike force and strengthen in other departments, only time will tell. But it is highly likely that Chelsea will splash millions to sign a top quality striker, someone who can provide 20+ league goals a season that will help in competing with Manchester clubs for the title.
Numerous quality options are there and Chelsea have been linked with quite a few like Cavani, Lewandowski, Falcao (may have joined Monaco) etc. Having secured Champions league berth and won another European title, the blues supporters cannot wait for Mourinho to return and make Chelsea fearsome for the rivals again.

Buying many young players without providing them chances 2 play looks like expands of expenditure and pulling debts on our side. It z a time now to recall Lukaku, K. D. Bruyne back with likes of buying Cavan is better rather than bringing Schur’le or Isco.
