Arsenal are nearing Champions League qualification for another season despite their roller coaster campaign. Somehow Arsene Wenger always seems to find the solution to top 4 dilemma. However, fans are desperate to end the long trophy drought and major reinforcements are needed in summer for that to happen.
The gunners are interested in numerous forwards. Stevan Jovetic of Fiorentina is someone Arsenal are monitoring closely but lately Arsenal have been linked with Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentine is heading towards Bernabeu exit and gunners can pounce on the opportunity to sign him.
Arsenal have had many ups and downs this season in all departments but they are clearly lacking a world class finisher upfront.
Since Robin van Persie moved to Manchester United, no one has filled his boots at the Emirates Stadium. Giroud has failed to shine as far as goal scoring is concerned. To his defense, it is his first season and the Frenchman has done well overall. Still, a top quality striker is needed if Arsenal want to make a serious case of winning a trophy.
Higuain has started 17 league games this season for Los Blancos and scored no less than 14 goals as well. However, it is likely that Madrid are going to keep Benzema and let go the Argentinian.
Gunners are reportedly looking to splash around 20 odd million to sign a quality striker and Higuain completely fits the bill. Arsenal will have to pay the asking price to sign the star striker that is somewhat around 22 million for the 25 year old.
Although, Jovetic is younger and more versatile as compared to Higuain still, when it comes to finishing, Argentinian is better than the Montenegro International, infact he is one of the best around as his record clearly indicates.
Arsenal need someone like the Madrid forward who could finish the barrage of chances created by their quality midfield. Something they have largely failed to do this season.
Arsene Wenger’s track record in the transfer market does not favor a move like that but with funds available, the manager must splash the cash to bring the forward to Emirates Stadium. Whether or not that will happen, we shall have the answer soon in the coming months.

We have the money and the requirement for both. The money for jovetic and higuain combined can pretty much be raised by selling gervinho park chamakh and bendtner. Plus releasing arshavin . I mean u are talking somewhere in the region of 15m a year in wages alone there. For me jovetic can play in the attacking midfield roles and compete with walcott cazorla podolski chamberlain rosicky and wilshire whilst higuain would provide great competituon for giroud. All we need to do then is sell denilson and santos and bring in a holding DM as well as sell djourou and release squillaci and get another cb whilst selling mannone and fabianski getting a new keeper. If sagna decides to move on there are a whole host of younger and better full backs that can replace him like pizceck van der weil jamnaat and coricha.

i have heard about so many quality players coming to arsenal in recent past but,none materialized.i just hope this time around,nothing stops us from signing quality players.We really need trophies.

Honestly, I have see nothing bad in Wenger signing the duo striker, they are both good striker, they both score goals as at when neded it is left for Wenger to take the bull by the horn and do things right this time by saving the club from 8yrs shame of trophy drought

I cannot believe anyone could compare Jovetic to Higuain, it’s like comparing Chamakh to Aguero of Man City. Higuain is far superior striker, in fact he for me one of the top 4 strikers in the world. Wenger unfortunately is terrible of late in picking a striker to match the class of Van Persie. We have no wold class striker in the same ilk of Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Wenger should get Jovetic and Higuain @ all cost, sell Denilson, Arshavin, Djourou, Bendtner, Chamakh, etc…Loan out Chamberlin to get playing time..so Jovetic can do much of his work…buy a DM, sell Vaemeleen nd use d money to get ashely Williams because I don’t see Vaemeleen competing with Kosielny or being a good pair with Mertersacker..so there’s no need of him warming the bench..and we then have a sweet team…….

Go for higuian and dzeko and not jovetic… Man u are successful because they bring in players that does their job rightaway. WE keep getting young stars the mostly are not capable of doing what van persie can do…. jovetic is a fantastic player…
but hes young… dzeko is older but much more clinical and his price is way more less then jovetic… dzeko is cost 17m whilst jovetic is cost 22m-25m… so clearly dzeko and higuain is a better choice… bring in gonals williams jammat and begovic and look how Arsenals starting lineup will look like…

Wenger won’t buy either he will stick to the same methods that have led us on to be a succesful club and qualifying for champions league year in, year out whilst paying off huge loans without financial backing. we need to keep buying players that he can turn into great players like manchester united have done and look where its got them, they are able to buy the players the need at high prices but can still afford them and they don’t have to sell their best players year in, year out. if we qualify for the champions league i can see great things in the future.
